Lake McDonald, Glacier National Park
This dive site in located at Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park, West Glacier, MT. Apgar in on the southern end of the lake as you enter the park. We were diving what is know as the debris field. In the 1930's the items were staged on the ice then fell through. From the boat dock descend to a depth of 35-80 ft. and head to the west, your left, and you will find various items from shovels, rakes, wood stoves, sinks, toilets, motor blocks, plates, bowls, etc. Remember this is in the national park and is not to be removed. The water is cold year around, winter 33°F to 50°F summer. The visibility is best from late summer until early spring when the run-off begins.
