Does my PADI Certification have an expiration date?

  No, your PADI Certification does not expire.  We do recommend that after an extended period of not  diving that you complete a Scuba Review with a PADI Divemaster or Instructor.

 

Is my certification only good for diving here?

  No. Your PADI Certification is recognized around the world.  The PADI Training organization is the leader in training divers.

 

Do I have to own my own equipment to dive?

  No, during the Open Water Training your course we include use of all equipment—mask, fins, BCD, etc.  We feel that you should learn to dive before making  any purchases.  That way you know you have invested in right equipment for you.  We also have a full line of  equipment available to rent once you are a certified diver.

 

Can you dive in Montana?

 Diving tropical locations are great but we have fun diving in Montana also.  High Country Divers, the local dive club, in conjunction with Adventure Scuba plans dives through out the summer in our local waters such as Yellowtail Dam, Lake DeSmet, Canyon Ferry and Yellowstone Park.   New members are always welcome!

I can’t find a class schedule that fits– any suggestions?

  We offer private instruction, you and your instructor plan a schedule that fits your needs.  Do you have 4 or more buddies—let us schedule a custom class with dates you choose. 

 
Can I complete my certification dives on my trip?

  Yes!  We can arrange for you to complete your certification at with a PADI instructor at your vacation location.  We could be happy to help with the arrangements.  We also offer certification dives on trips sponsored by the store.

Do you offer trips?

Yes, we offer trips through out the year.  Our most popular trip is our Annual SeaEscape to Cozumel, Mexico.  Many of our divers join us on this trip every June.  We also offer trips to other locations and can help you plan a trip for you or your small group.


After I'm certified, what next?

Your enjoyment of diving will be enhanced by learning new skills and exploring different types of diving.  Your adventure starts with the PADI Adventure and Advanced Courses. You can discover the fun of a night dives, learn about underwater photography, try out dry suit diving, improve your navigation skills, to name a few options.  Your Adventure Dives can be applied to the individual specialty.   What a great way to improve your diving and meet new friends.

Do I need special training to dive locally?

Dive sites in Montana are considered altitude dives and our water conditions are colder than tropical locations.  Divers that complete their open water check you dives here, will receive an orientation to those considerations as part of their briefings for those dives.  Divers that have not done any local dives will benefit from arranging for a guided tour with a local divemaster or instructor.  These Discover Local Diving sessions will help you learn about local diving conditions.  Another way to gain the needed information for local diving is to do an Altitude dive as part of your Advance program or an Altitude Specialty.

How much training do I need?

The PADI system offers training for all levels,  you can taking your training to what ever level that you want.  The Rescue Diver rating is a great goal-  you learn not only to take care of yourself, but to be aware of others.  A Rescue Diver learns to recognize potential problems and solve them before they become a problem and to handle a dive emergency when they occur.  Divers that complete this course say that it's the most fun and challenging course they've taken.

I want to become a Divemaster.  Can I do that here?

The PADI Divemaster course is the start of becoming a dive professional and is the prerequisite for becoming an assistant instructor or Instructor.  Divemasters are invaluable to dive centers and instructors in assisting with training, leading dives and conducting Scuba Reviews.  The Divemaster course is a custom course- call and start today.

How old do you need to be to get certified?

The minimum age for certification is 10 years of age.  Divers from 10- 14 receive a Jr. Open Water card.  It has some restrictions on it- maximum recommended depth and accompanied by a PADI professional or an adult certified diver.

Can kids scuba?

PADI offers programs for divers as young as 8 years of age.  Our Bubblemaker and Seal Team programs get your kids blowing bubbles in quick order.  These programs teach skill
